The meaning of life is something revisited one year after a patient’s prognosis was that he’d be a vegetable for the rest of his life.

That’s the story of Christian Maas, who suffered a traumatic brain injury after a car accident a year ago. Thanks to new therapeutic treatment in the state of Florida, Maas overcame the odds.

This is his story of triumph.

“We take too much for granted,” says survivor Christian Maas. Life for Maas was set but everything changed a year ago with this car accident. Maas recalls, “I went very fast. I apparently hit some soft sand. And, then, the next thing I knew, I wrecked.”

Suffering a traumatic brain injury, Maas was in a coma for three months with a negative prognosis. His father, Skyeler Maas, says, “They would tell us it was a high possibility he would never wake up and if he did, he would be in a vegetable state.”
